Looking for a solution to help control outdoor populations in our backyard. So far, one small mouse after two days. I placed a screw through the bait point on the top point to secure a green bait block above the trap door. The plastic ladder/ramp is a little flimsy but considering the weight of a mouse it’s ok, but if it’s a rat I’d be concerned it may be marginal. The flap sets in its detents and is well balanced and slick so traction will be marginal helping them slide in once flap tips. The flap sets in two detents but does not lock in, shouldn’t be a problem just comes out easily when handling. It’s easy to setup, on your bucket of course, but figuring out what bait is going took some trial and error (peanut butter not working here). It’s a nice turnkey solution if you want a bucket trap, it is a little pricey for what it is.

I really like the design of this trap. It's great that it resets after each catch and they never really get the bait so it's not just one mouse or rat per bait. However. If squirrels have access to this thing, they will completely destroy it. Over the course of a week they chewed through the bait shield and even ate the clips holding it to the bucket. I had to throw it out. Indoors it probably works just fine.

Maybe it's just me, but baiting their prescribed way - spreading some peanut butter, some sunflower seeds, didn't work for me. However, lent it to my friend, and he smothered peanut butter on the the tip of the paddle itself, and BOOM, mice galore. Success is tapping in to the mouse's greed/reward. Put a nice giant glob of peanut butter in what looks like an easy spot, and bang, you got your mice in your bucket.

Two nights and I have 5 mice and that’s more than I expected. Was gonna take them across the river to set free, but then realized the folks on the other side bring them over here and set them free. I filled the bucket with a few inches of water and it was over rather quickly. I bought the original Rinne Trap because I thought it would be a higher quality. I was surprised to see how flimsy it is. Not even close to the rigidity of the lid that came with the bucket. I must catch twenty mice to break even when price is compared to snap traps and that’s probably doable. Much easier and cleaner when compared to other options. ⭐️ concept ⭐️ efficiency ⭐️ simplicity ⭐️ price 👎 quality

The goal was catch and release. Can't complain, it does the job. By now, there may be something better but this is still working. It's really difficult to keep mice out of the building and this product is essential. My next plan is to get a new building, however that will cost thousands of times more. Take your pick. Buyers note: This works great for mice but for some reason does not work on rats. Also using ultrasonic sound blaster which works for some mice and not others. I'm assuming once the mice go deaf from the sound, they are no longer bothered by it. You can't hear it, but the cat will not come in when it's running. Just in the last week alone, a mouse planted himself on my computer keyboard, facing me, with an angry look saying, hey, give me some food! Sorry buddy, no can do. The result would be a dozen, then a hundred mice.

When setting up the peanut butter on the edge, I had smeared about a pinky's nail worth (and I'm a 5ft person). I had to wipe off about half that, making it about a sunflower seed (flat) smear size, because the peanut butter was too heavy and the trap kept flipping up. It's a bit lopsided.
Also, the cover on the top makes it difficult to catch anything except a tiny mouse. The opening is only about 1.5" to 2" high. I saw another review where they had a rat that chewed a hole on the cover to get to the peanut butter. lol Even if that rat had sat on the trap, it couldn't get to the peanut butter from the front, and therefore, it can't tip the trap. He's too big and all it does it wedge him between the cover and the trap floor.... probably why he sat on the lid and chewed a hole.
Good concept, but the dome cover isn't great. I saw another that was the same type of trap floor, but didn't have that limiting dome cover.

There is one design issue that needs to resolved, but nothing that would stop you from employing this excellent mouse trap. With conventional traps I was lucky to kill two mice a night with most nights showing empty traps. With this trap five a night is average and there hasn't been one night we didn't kill at least two.
On the minor flaw: the ramp is a tad too short (maybe two inches or so). This causes it to be installed at too steep an angle. I put a scrap of 2x4 under the entry end and all is well.
Follow the directions on baiting the trap and all should go well.
EDIT:
Back for an update. I still feel this trap is a great addition to your efforts. However, and this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, mice learn. They must notice that a trip up that ramp is a one way deal :-) In time this trap will stop working. But that is true of every trap I've used. Sticky traps were flawless for a while, the mice are on to those now too.
Fact is, if you have a mouse problem you need a cat. Doesn't have too be a good mouser. Mice sense the smell of a cat in the area and beat feet. Our feline friend died a while back and my wife can't bear the thought of loosing another. So, we suffer with mice. But, before... when we had cats, we didn't have mice! Thought I would pass that along to anyone who is suffering with them. The damage can be alarming!
